Well lets get some history. Long before Ritas decided to get into the Italian Ice business, Carmen Esposito was vending  his Italian Ice in Philly. The year was 1971 when Carmen got his Water Ice truck fired up and hit the streets of Philly. Many people did not even know what Water Ice (italian ice ) was, but they all loved it and waited patiently for Carmen's  truck to hit their street. Then in 1975 it happened the Carmens first Italian Ice shop opened in Northeast Philly, and it was a wild success. At that time Italian Ice shops were a rare sight, but Carmen's pionering spirit got it all started not only in Philly but in the U.S. and further. Hence for those wishing to enter the Italian Ice business, your first move should be to contact Carmen Esposito so that you can learn from someone who has done it all .
