My name is Carmen Esposito and I began this consulting business to share my 35+ years of experience in the gelato and Italian ice business with new entrepreneurs, like you! I began my career in Philadelphia in 1971 selling Italian ice from an old yellow international truck. The truck made it through several seasons and over that time my success grew as I developed my own unique one-of-a-kind Italian ice recipes.
In 1975 I retired the truck and opened my first retail store called Esposito's Italian Ices. It wasn't long before Esposito's earned the reputation as the best Italian ice in Philly! The Philadelphia Daily News discovered my Italian ice and commented in an editorial saying "What cools you down better than a good old water ice? Esposito's, unlike many newcomers, remembers how to make it right."
In 1978 Esposito's won the highly coveted "Best of Philly" award from Philadelphia Magazine. Esposito's reputation grew quickly and by the mid-80s if you were eating Italian ice in Philadelphia it was most likely manufactured by Esposito's. I later opened a wholesale facility expanding the sale of my unique product to all of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Over the years business grew with the opening of 3 additional retail stores. In 1994, after many successful years in the retail and wholesale Italian ice business, my team and I began offering our expertise to individuals that were seeking to start their own successful Italian ice business. In 2000 we expanded our menu to include authentic Italian gelato and changed our name to Nucci’s Italian Ice and Gelato. (Nucci is my nickname) Since then we’ve been able to share my 35 + years of experience with many entrepreneurs. We’ve been privileged to become an integral part in helping business owners reach their goals and select the appropriate pathways to success.
